Based in Surrey, I run Dragonfly Garden Designs as both a garden design practice and a horticultural advisory service, with virtual consultations available to clients across the UK and internationally.
The Journey
My career began in the creative world with a degree in Graphic Design from Staffordshire University, followed by several years working in London as a designer. In 2001 I retrained in Garden Design at North East Surrey College of Technology (NESCOT) and joined the Royal Horticultural Society at RHS Wisley, where I worked from 2001 to 2008.
In 2002, I founded my first design company, Felicity Jones Garden Design Services. Nearly twenty years later, in 2021, I launched Dragonfly Garden Designs with a renewed focus on combining sustainability, practicality, and beauty in every project I take on.

Experience & Qualifications
Over the years, I’ve designed a wide range of gardens, from compact town courtyards to large family landscapes, and I continue to build on my skills through professional development. I recently completed the RHS Level 3 Certificate in Principles of Garden Planning, Construction and Planting at Merrist Wood College, along with specialist courses in surveying, construction, and planting design.
These qualifications, combined with my practical experience, enable me to offer clients advice and designs that are both creative and sustainable – tailored to individual lifestyles and spaces.

This includes tailored written guides, bespoke plant lists, and care instructions that suit your home, lifestyle, and budget. Whether you’re looking for inspiration on what to plant, or guidance on maintaining existing borders, this service can be delivered remotely wherever you are in the world.

I’m Felicity Jones, Founder of Dragonfly Garden Designs. With over 20 years’ experience in garden design and horticulture – including 8 years at RHS Wisley – I create thoughtful, sustainable gardens tailored to each client’s lifestyle.
I’m a proud member of the Chartered Institute of Horticulture, the British Association of Landscape Industries (BALI), and the Society of Garden Designers (SGD).
